Sun comes out for 60th anniversary of Giving & Living

February 12, 2025

The Hale Events team celebrating Giving Living’s 60th edition with cake!

The 60th anniversary of Giving & Living was illumined by winter sun and buyers from hundreds of retail businesses from all across the South West of England and beyond. They came to show their support for the most important regional trade event for home and gift, where thousands of new products were making their 2025 debut across a broad range of categories.

This year’s event included the strongest-ever Designed & Made in Britain sector, where a host of companies made their first trade show outing alongside a wonderful tribe of experienced designer-makers and local trade suppliers.

Other show sectors included an inspirational Coastal Path – a unique sector for Giving & Living amongst British trade shows, and Sustainability Stars, reflecting the importance of eco-friendly, organic and ethical products to buyers of today and increasing numbers of shoppers.

The 2025 edition of the show also provided a trade platform for bellwether companies such as Ty, Quay Traders, Kandy Toys, Eco Friendly Card Company, Miss Milly, SH Sales, JBA, Bailey’s Pewter and historic Devonshire business, Babbacombe Pottery, supplier to the home and gift industry for over 100 years.

Beth at Turtle Bags commented: “After many years of contemplating, we finally made the decision to exhibit at Giving and Living. It has been a joy! Welcoming, easy going friendly and, as it turns out good for trade. Turtle Bags is a very good fit for many businesses in the South and West. A big thank you to a very supportive team.”

Ben from B. Marriott Design said “For a first-time exhibitor, attending Giving & Living 2025 was incredibly valuable to my business. I’ve met many wonderful people from a variety of companies and organisations, helping my products reach new locations! We’ve come away with many new orders, but also a lot of knowledge and advice shared by other stallholders to help us on our journey. I would absolutely recommend attending if you’re running a small business and looking to take the next step forward.“

The event welcomed hundreds of retail businesses, including independent retailers, gift, home and souvenir shops, garden centres and farm shops, heritage sites and leisure destinations, alongside hospitality businesses such as hotels, restaurants and cafes, who were keen to snap up the hottest new products of the season from an inspiring showcase of suppliers.

Mike Anderson, the managing director of show organiser, Hale Events, said “We were delighted to share our 60th anniversary celebrations with so many of our customers on both the supply and retail side. The economic conditions are very challenging for our industry but seeing everyone pull out the stops and putting their best foot forward is testament to the creativity and resilience of our fantastic industry. A big thank you to everyone who supported the show, we are looking forward to seeing you again next year!”

The next edition of Giving & Living will run from Sunday 11th – Tuesday 13th January 2026 at Westpoint, Exeter. You can take a look around the website for more details or contact: 01934 733433 / [email protected].
