Food for the soul

December 17, 2012

As we become more of a foodie nation than ever before, food & drink gifts are becoming more and more popular.  For customers not sure what to buy someone, something consumable is usually a fairly safe bet!  They’re great products for your business to stock as they turnover fast, and won’t sit around on the shelves gathering dust.  Whilst you can find a wide range of food and drink at the show, this year is the second year of the very successful Regional Food and Drink area, where you’ll find those unique speciality treats that stand out from the crowd.  Here’s a taste (sorry, pun intended!) of some of the producers you can see at the show:

Chocolicious.
Chocolicious, the home of Cornish handmade chocolate products, has been trading for some fifteen years. They specialize in the manufacture of chocolate truffles, moulded chocolate, chocolate bars, chocolate dipped cinder toffee, Turkish Delight, ginger and Cornish Clotted Cream biscuits, chocolate dipped fruits, nuts and wedding favours.  All their products are manufactured on their farm in the Cornish countryside village of Demelza.  The products are all handmade, using the finest Belgian Chocolate, to their own designs and recipes, using as many locally source quality ingredients as possible.  They supply wholesale, retail, wedding and corporate customers with the finest crafted Belgian chocolate, and are also registered members of the Made in Cornwall scheme.

Friary Liqueurs.
Friary Liqueurs are a family run business that has been producing individually handmade liqueurs for over 15 years.  They’re based in Witham Friary, hence the company name of Friary Liqueurs.  The company was founded with the idea of creating truly great liqueurs and through a number of years of blending and experimenting, and trying, they are convinced that they have succeeded!  If you don’t believe them, why not try them for yourself?  Their award winning liqueurs can also be tailored to your site or shop to make a really unique product.

New English Teas.
Founded in 1985 by the great-grandson of Arthur Brooke, of Brooke Bond fame, New English Teas is a privately owned company committed to providing the finest teas and excellent customer service.  They supply a wide range of trade customers throughout the world with a variety of high quality gift packed teas.  Their blends have been carefully selected to ensure the finest aromas and flavours are consistently achieved and the wide variety of teas available includes a selection of both loose leaf teas and tagged, enveloped, tea bags.
They have new ranges of souvenir and gift-teas for 2013, including  authentic vintage and travel collections and Queen Elizabeth Coronation tins. These eye-catching pack designs echo English tradition and heritage and provide the perfect gift for any occasion.  Their re-designed classic teas are available in teabags and loose teas, with a wide range of selection packs available.

If you fancy trying a range of the regional food on offer, why not visit the Taste of the West on Stand A524 and enter their prize draw to win a hamper of South West specialities.  Good luck!
